Police have identified the body of a woman found floating at an Auckland beach.
Officers were called to Okahu Bay around 10am yesterday when a member of the public spotted the body in the water.
It is understood the person who made the discovery went into the water to pull
the body - which was face down - back to shore.
Police say information came to light overnight, revealing her to be a 53-year-old of Indian descent from Mt Roskill.
The woman's next of kin are in the process of being contacted.
