Police hunting service station robbers

Porirua police are hunting three robbers who fired a shotgun to blast their way through the front window of a service station in Mana.

The raid was carried out at 2am, when the station was closed.

The men fired a second blast inside the store while attempting to get into the safe.

The vehicle the men were using had been stolen from Whitby about 15 minutes before and was later abandoned and set alight.

Police want to talk to any nearby residents or early morning workers who may have seen something.
