Police hunt three remand prisoners

Police are hunting three men who escaped from Manukau District Court in Auckland last night and have asked the public for help.

Police said the three fled about 7pm while they were being held on remand.

The wanted men are 33-year-old Robbie James Allen, Adrian Tepania, 23, and Tangata Ponini, 35.

They were wearing blue prison issue tracksuits and police said they were not considered dangerous.

Police have begun an inquiry into how the men escaped and said anyone with knowledge of the men should ring Manurewa police station.
