Police are hunting a man after what is believed to be an armed robbery at a dairy in Otumoetai.
The incident at the Grange Road Dairy occurred about 4.40pm and police had cordoned off a suburban shopping centre and blocked roads.
Police were searching neighbouring streets and the nearby Daisy Hardwick Walkway.
Detectives were understood to be viewing CCTV footage from the robbery.
A reporter at the scene said police dogs were being used to track the offender.
