Police hunt skinny, naked sex offender

A skinny, naked man wearing only a beanie who performed a sex act in front of a woman in a Kerikeri street at the weekend is being sought by police.

Police said the woman was walking along Kerikeri Road on Saturday morning when the offender stopped his van and exposed himself.

Sergeant Phil Le Comte said the woman kept walking but the man drove past her, stopped and continued to perform an indecent act.

He then did a u-turn, got out of the van, still naked, and began rummaging in the back before speeding off

He was Caucasian, very skinny and aged about 26. His older-style "goldy-brown" van was a square shape with seats in the back Mr Le Comte said.

The man did not speak to the woman but his "more than overt" display was a concern.

"We're keen to hear from anyone who saw a naked man standing next to a van," he said.

"It was a busy time of the day so someone else in the area must have seen the man.'

Mr Le Comte said the man did not threaten the woman.
