Napier police are hunting a man who robbed a pharmacy of controlled drugs yesterday afternoon.
The man walked into Ahuriri Pharmacy on Bridge Street, in the suburb of Ahuriri, about 2pm, Detective Emmet Lynch of Napier police said.
He approached one of two female staff members, told her he was armed, and demanded specific controlled drugs.
He got a small quantity of the drugs.
Neither staff member was hurt, but both were shocked.
After leaving the pharmacy, the man was seen to walk across the road toward the Crown Hotel.
He was described as Caucasian, in his early to mid thirties, 180cm tall, of a lean build, unshaven, with collar-length fair hair.
He was wearing a long sleeve multi-coloured striped rugby knit jersey, light-coloured full length cargo pants and a dark coloured beanie.
