KEY POINTS:
Hawke's Bay police are searching for a Mongrel Mob member over the theft of a mobile dental clinic.
The clinic, stolen from Napier, was recovered this week - minus tens of thousand of dollars worth of dental equipment.
Detective Emmet Lynch said yesterday police believed Mongrel Mob member Alistair "Yogi" Robinson, who was once paid $20,000 in compensation for his treatment in prison, had some involvement in the theft.
He has been wanted since he breached bail conditions in September, Mr Lynch told the Dominion Post.
He said Robinson, 39, was 174cm tall and of solid build with extensive facial tattoos.
In 2005 he was one of three inmates compensated after being held illegally under the "behaviour management regime" for difficult prisoners at Auckland's Paremoremo Prison.
Robinson, who was serving time for aggravated robbery, had spent four years and 10 months either in standard solitary confinement or in the Behavioural Management Regime (BMR).
Mr Lynch said the dental clinic had been gutted, with a lot of valuable gear taken.
