Police are hunting a man who punched a boy in the stomach during an altercation in Gore.
The incident happened two Saturdays ago at West Gore Primary School, on Kitchener St.
Three boys, aged between 7 and 11, were playing in the school grounds when they were approached by an unknown man about 10.40am.
"An altercation has occurred which resulted in the male punching one of the young boys in the stomach," police said.
Police had spoken to several witnesses but were seeking more information.
The alleged offender is aged between 30 and 40. He is of short to average height, of stocky build, with short black hair, a beard and moustache.
He left the scene in a car similar to a newer model Mitsubishi Chariot, of red or maroon colour.
