KEY POINTS:
Police are appealing for help from the public to identify a knife-wielding man who robbed Pizza Hut in Christchurch at the weekend.
The man entered the restaurant in suburban Shirley at 11.30pm and is thought to have escaped on foot along Warrington Street.
He was described as a 20- to 30-year-old Maori or Polynesian of solid build, 180cm-185cm tall.
He was wearing a white baseball cap and shoes, dark blue bandana with white paisley pattern, dark-brown zip-up hoody, long pants, and a light green backpack with black straps.
Anyone with information should contact Senior Constable John Hodgen at the Papanui Police.
