A man is in hospital after being shot in the buttocks in the Christchurch suburb of Linwood this morning.
Emergency services were alerted to the incident on Armagh St just after 11am.
The male victim was reportedly shot by another man.
Canterbury district commander Superintendent Gary Knowles said the shooter is believed to have left the scene on foot and police, including the armed offenders squad, are searching for him.
