A young man was knocked unconscious and sustained a broken leg after a vicious assault at a dairy in Dunedin.
The 28-year-old was attacked outside a Night 'n Day store in George St, The Octagon at 3.50am on Sunday July 16.
A motorist who was driving past at the time stopped his car, got out and intervened and the victim was able to crawl to the side of the road where he was spoken to by police and taken to hospital by ambulance.
Police are keen to speak to the three men in the photos who were in the area at the time.
