Police are searching for a man who tried to coax a young girl into his car in Dunedin this afternoon.
The man pulled over on the side of George-King Memorial Drive and asked the girl to get into his car. She refused and left on her bike, but police said she has been left shaken.
The man is described as being in his 40s or 50s with short, balding hair, a beard and tattoos on his arm.
He was driving a green or blue hatchback car and was driving down George-King Memorial Drive towards Outram.
Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or the car, or believes they can identify the man is asked to contact Dunedin Police on 03 471 4800.
