KEY POINTS:
Police are hunting two balaclava-clad armed men after a home invasion in Motueka last night which left a man badly bleeding from a neck injury.
Motueka police Sergeant Rob Crawford said the assailants, carrying a knife, baseball bat and imitation firearm, forced their way into a house on Central Road at 9.30pm.
A couple were in the house and a struggle broke out during which a male occupant was attacked and cut on the neck , requiring stitches.
The two offenders ran off onto Central Road where it was believed a car was waiting to pick them up.
The motive for the attack was unknown and police were appealing to the public for any information, Mr Crawford said.
