Police are looking for the driver of a ute which hit the side of a Wairarapa passenger train then drove off this morning.
The incident happened on a rural crossing at Moffats Rd, between Carterton and Greytown about 7.20am, said police communications centre spokesman Bruce Mackay.
The white ute, possibly a Toyota Hilux with equipment on the back, was damaged but was quickly driven off, he said.
The train's passengers were not injured and the train was not damaged but was delayed 30 minutes by the incident.
