Police are hunting a firebug after the home of a Foxton Beach woman was broken into and torched yesterday.
The woman, 26, fled through a window about 1am after waking to the sound of breaking glass.
Detective Sergeant Grayson Joines of Levin said that luckily the woman's children, aged 6 and 9, were away.
The woman was devastated by the loss of her family's belongings.
