KEY POINTS:
Auckland police are hunting two men who robbed an ASB bank armed with a sawn-off shotgun this afternoon.
Inspector Ian Brooker said the men fled from the Meadowbank ASB just after 1.30pm in a green Peugeot car.
An undisclosed amount of money was taken in the robbery.
Mr Brooker said the Peugeot was later found in the carpark at the Waiatarua Reserve at the intersection of Grand Drive and Abbots Way.
It had panel damage on one of the doors and different number plates at the front and rear.
Police were keen to hear from anyone who remembered seeing the car in the area of the bank or the Waiatarua Reserve with two men with dark complexions about the time of the robbery, or of anyone seen leaving the carpark in another vehicle.
Mr Brooker said police were examining CCTV coverage of the robbery and would be releasing further descriptions as they came to hand.
Meanwhile just 20 minutes later a lone male was reported to have run from the Bairds Road ASB in south Auckland after presenting a note to tellers and demanding money.
Mr Brooker said initial reports indicated that nothing was taken during the robbery and the offender was described as being aged 13- 15-years-old.
Detective Sergeant Shaun Vickers said the young man waited in line before presenting the note.
The man, who was not carrying a weapon, left when he wasn't given any money.
Mr Vickers said the offender was captured on security camera and he waiting to get the footage before releasing a description.
No one was hurt in the incident.
