A man who was at the centre of a major police hunt in the Rotorua area last week has been granted bail.
Shane Amon faced two counts of threatening to kill and one count of threatening to damage property when he appeared in Rotorua District Court today.
The armed offenders squad was called last week to the small settlement of Mamaku, north of Rotorua, last week after reports of an armed man behaving irrationally.
The AOS was later stood down after a search for the man proved fruitless.
Amon handed himself in to Tokoroa police station on Friday.
