KEY POINTS:
Southland police hold fears for the safety of a 38-year-old man missing from his home near Balclutha in Otago since Wednesday.
Jason Noel Davey left his house at Benhar, 6km northeast of Balclutha, without his medication about 10am and has not been seen or heard from since.
Acting Sergeant Craig Dinnissen said it was out of character for Mr Davey to disappear without telling his Balclutha-based family.
He is described as a male Pakeha with olive complexion and a solid build. He is about 1.65m tall, has short black hair, brown or hazel eyes and a dark goatee beard.
Mr Davey was last seen in the town wearing knee-length cut-off jeans with frayed edges, a grey-blue jersey with a dark-stripe across the front and possibly white sneakers.
He was possibly driving a gold four-door Ford Laser with the registration number JU6310.
