Police helicopter follows man from dairy robbery

A man was arrested in Auckland this afternoon after a police helicopter followed him from the scene of a robbery.

Police northern communications said a man armed with a knife robbed a dairy in Blockhouse Bay, West Auckland.

A witness followed the man and gave police a description of his car.

The police Eagle helicopter followed the car and directed police patrols to it.

A man was arrested and will appear in court at a later date.

Police said the dairy owner was shaken but unhurt. There was no indication of how much cash was taken.
