Police having trouble identifying cyclist

Auckland police are having trouble identifying a cyclist who sustained critical injuries in a crash at Avondale about 6.30am yesterday.

The man, aged between 60 and 70 and of Chinese appearance, was in Auckland hospital last night and unable to speak to staff.

A police spokesman said the cyclist was riding an old, green mountain bike and had two 10-litre paint buckets with him.
