Sixty-five people have been arrested and charged in relation to the aggravated robberies of shops in Auckland since February.
Acting assistant commissioner districts Superintendent John Tims said he was aware the robberies were very concerning to the community and they were being taken very seriously by the police.
He said teams in Waitemata, Auckland City and Counties Manukau were dealing with aggravated robberies.
In Counties Manukau, every aggravated robbery file of a commercial business was sent to the major crime team, he said.
Since February they had cleared 48 aggravated robbery files.
