KEY POINTS:
Police are investigating several possible sightings of missing Upper Hutt man John Gerraty.
The 55-year-old, who suffers from epilepsy and several other medical conditions, was last seen in the Clouston Park area of Upper Hutt about 4pm on Thursday.
He moves with a severe limp and is blind in one eye.
Inspector Mike Hill of Upper Hutt police said today they had received several reports of possible sightings, and those were still being investigated.
Concerns for Mr Gerraty's welfare were growing, particularly with regard to his medical conditions for which he had not had medication since he went missing last week, Mr Hill said.
"As to exactly what has happened, we have nothing to suggest anything sinister about his disappearance, but obviously we do have to locate him one way or another."
Mr Hill said there were no plans to search the Hutt River at present.
