Drivers are being reminded to take care around schools, with police ramping up enforcement during United Nations Road Safety Week, which kicks off today.
Police say road safety around schools will be a key focus during the week, with police also promoting road safety by taking part in community events at schools and kindergartens around the country.
Police are reminding drivers a permanent 40km/h reduced speed threshold remains in place within 250m of school boundaries.
Police will also be checking seatbelts and child restraints, and breath testing anyone that is pulled over for any reason.
