KEY POINTS:
Lower Hutt police have been flooded with phone calls after a televised police interview with two psychics about the disappearance of Wellington woman Kaye Stewart.
Mrs Stewart, 62, a physiotherapist from the Wellington suburb of Northland, vanished when walking in Rimutaka Forest Park in 2005. Police say they are now "80 per cent" certain Mrs Stewart was murdered, and her family agree.
As part of the Sensing Murder show on Tuesday night, Detective Senior Sergeant Ross Levy interviewed psychics Kelvin Cruickshank and Deb Webber.
As a result of the show, the Lower Hutt police station had received a dozen calls with possible new leads, said Mr Levy told The Dominion Post.
It was too early to know if any of the information would lead to Mrs Stewart's body, he said.
During the interview one of the psychics gave the full name of a "person of interest".
Mr Levy said the person had not been discounted from the investigation.
More than 100 people in the area of the park where Mrs Stewart disappeared had been questioned as part of the inquiry, but there were no likely suspects.
Police exhaustively searched the area where Mrs Stewart went walking, but found nothing that belonged to her.
A $50,000 reward for information had little response.
