KEY POINTS:
Police have found seven stun guns during busts which also uncovered hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of Class A drugs and cash.
The large haul of drugs - found in cars and at properties in Rangiriri, Hamilton and Tauranga - included significant quantities of LSD, methamphetamine, ecstasy tablets, cannabis oil, cannabis, and magic mushrooms.
Four stun guns in Hamilton and a further three stun guns in Tauranga were also uncovered. Police said the guns were not the same as their recently issued "Taser" guns, but they operated similarly in that they could momentarily disable a person.
Police likened the gun to a "cattle prod."
During a search at Rangiriri, police also found an "asp" baton, which work like police-issue retractable batons.
Hamilton Detective Sergeant Chris Page said the police operation targeted offenders "across the board" who were believed to be involved in burglary, stolen property, and drug dealing.
"There is an intricate network of criminals who are well organised and well resourced and have the capability to make large amounts of money out of their dealings," Mr Page said.
Head of Waikato Police crime control unit Detective Sergeant Karl Thornton said the combination of drugs and weapons discovered this week was of "deep concern".
The seizure of the stun guns was a major issue, he added.
"It's alarming to say the least, that drug dealers are equipping themselves with these sorts of weapons."
Police said the operation was an ongoing one and that the guns had originated in China or the United States.
Eleven people have been arrested and are due to appear in Hamilton District Court over the next 36 hours on a variety of drugs and weapons charges.
Two bundles of cash of $18,890 and $7000 were found during searches of houses and cars in Hamilton.
In one car alone, about 400g of crystal methamphetamine (P), 100 ecstasy tablets, and 1.5 ounces of cannabis head was found.
