Police have found the car that is believed to be linked to the death at Otorohanga of Ocean Heke and are now talking with two young people about it.
The 17-year-old's body was found on the side of the road on Sunday morning, hours after she left the 18th birthday of a good friend.
A scene examination indicted a car may have been involved.
Detective Senior Sergeant Ross Patterson said that car has now been found and will undergo an forensic examination today.
Two young people are now helping police with inquiries in relation to the car.
