KEY POINTS:
Police are hunting a man who attempted to lure a young boy into his car in a Taranaki town.
They fear it is the third time children in Normanby have been approached by strangers and are warning parents to make sure their children do not walk to school alone.
They believe the man could strike again.
The incident happened last week as the eight-year-old boy was walking home from Normanby Primary School. He was approached by a man, possibly Asian, who demanded he get in his ute.
Sergeant Bryce Allison said the boy ran home and told his mother.
He said police had since become aware of two other similar incidents which had not been reported.
