KEY POINTS:
Police say a remorseless sexual predator jailed for two rapes may have had other victims, and they are urging them to come forward.
Nicholas David Clarke, 22, was yesterday sentenced at Christchurch District Court to four years' jail, for raping a 13-year-old girl in 2004.
The term will be added to the 11-year sentence Clarke is already serving for raping a 16-year-old girl, which happened 18 months after the first attack.
Judge Colin Doherty said yesterday that Clarke's comments in the pre-sentence report indicated he had no remorse, and no empathy for his victims.
Police said Clarke was a calculating offender who had probably offended in between the two reported rapes, the Press newspaper reported.
"The potential exists (that) there are further victims, and they should come forward," said Detective Sergeant Anita Paterson after Clarke's sentencing.
"It could be that he's approached someone and they have thought it a bit odd."
Both victims' families said they became withdrawn after the rapes, pushing away those close to them and quitting school and jobs.
The 13-year-old had made numerous attempts to commit suicide, had run away from home and spent time in a psychiatric hospital.
The 16-year-old said she was angry that Clarke seemed to have no remorse for his crimes, and appeared "smug" in court.
