Police hold fears for the safety of a 21-year-old Rotorua man who has not contacted his family in 10 days.
Detective Sergeant Ryan Yardley said Tamati Hemi Kohey, who lived with his mother, was last seen by friends in Rotorua on December 21.
Police were concerned because he had not contacted any of his family since then, which was unusual for him, especially during the Christmas period, Mr Yardley told NZPA.
His family had reported him missing.
It was too early to say whether foul play was involved, Mr Yardley said.
