Police have drawn a blank on their latest efforts to find a Korean student who mysteriously disappeared from his North Shore home two months ago.
Cadaver dogs specially trained to find decomposing human bodies searched bush and reserves near the home of Young Wook Ma, also known as Jack Ma, yesterday but failed to find any sign of him.
The 22-year-old student vanished on June 14.
Police said they did not believe he had been the victim of foul play.
Senior Constable Wayne Fisher said there was little more police could do without firm clues.
"It is at that point of winding down and waiting for a fresh lead. It is at that point where we need something fresh in order to give us a kick in another angle."
Mr Fisher said Mr Ma had no enemies or criminal background, and there had been no ransom demands or contact from anyone who might have kidnapped him or knew where he was."
He said police believe if Mr Ma wanted time out by now he would have contacted a friend or relative.
"I think it is very unlikely that anything untoward has happened to him like he has been murdered. That is a slim possibility even though it is never impossible."
