KEY POINTS:
Police have conducted a forensic examination of a Ngaruawahia house where a 50-year-old woman was found dead on Thursday, but say further investigation is needed.
A number of witnesses are being interviewed in relation to the death, police said today.
The body of Pauline Sharryn Witeri, of Hamilton, was found in bed by her partner, who alerted police.
She had no visible injuries, and police said there was nothing to suggest her death was suspicious.
However, Waikato police spokesman Tony Sasso said today there were matters which warranted further investigation.
The results of the scene examination and post mortem had yet to be fully analysed.
Police were continuing to interview witnesses relating to Ms Witeri's movements over the past week.
Senior Sergeant Mata John said yesterday it appeared Ms Witeri had stopped breathing and police were trying to find out if she had any health problems which led to her death.
