Police and ESR scientists will spend the next couple of days at the home of a woman found shot in the head.
The 27-year-old woman was found by her partner in their rural Hawke's Bay property - she's in a critical condition in hospital.
A scene examination will take place over the next couple of days and police will be speaking to a number of people who know the woman.
Her mother has flown to her bedside from Melbourne.
