The scene of a fatal collision between a car and a motorbike in the Bay of Plenty has been examined by police.
Emergency services were called to State Highway 33, south of Paengaroa, after the motorcyclist died in the crash about 8.45pm yesterday.
The road was closed between Allport Road and Paengaroa, and traffic between Rotorua and Tauranga was diverted on to SH36 at Haumarana.
Tauranga police shift commander Iain Chapman said this morning that a scene examination had been completed and the road had been opened.
The motorcyclist would be named once next of kin had been notified.
