Police divers have failed to find any trace of Indian student Srikanth Rayadurgam, who has been missing from his Auckland home for a fortnight.
The divers searched part of the Westhaven Marina on the city side of Auckland's Waitemata Harbour today, not far from where some of his property was found the day after he disappeared.
The divers searched near the breakwater as specialist land-based police searchers looked on land and beaches between Westhaven and Pt Chevalier.
Police said the land search could take two days.
Mr Rayadurgam, 23, took some money out of a Queen St money machine on October 1, the day he disappeared.
His cellphone was later "polled" in the Karangahape Rd and Westhaven areas although police said they could not be sure if he was still in possession of it.
He also tried to call his uncle in India after 10pm on his cellphone but did not get through.
P olice also canvassed the Karangahape Rd area and Westhaven Marina, last night but said that "did not result in any remarkable information being passed on to the investigation".
Detective Senior Sergeant Joe Aumua, said information was trickling into the inquiry and was helping build a clearer picture of Srikanth and his lifestyle.
"While his disappearance is still very much a mystery we have more information now than we did two weeks ago about what sort of person he is.
"I'd still urge people to call us if they have any information that might help us find him."
