KEY POINTS:
Police divers this morning took just a couple of minutes to find the body of a man who disappeared while swimming at Lake Karapiro at the weekend.
The pair of divers pulled Jude Willem Esselbrugge, 20, from the water at around 11.45am.
Two of his uncles stood arm in arm watching the retrieval of the body.
Mr Esselbrugge, of Hamilton, failed to surface when he and a friend jumped in at Keeley's Landing, south of Cambridge, on Sunday.
His friend surfaced but there was no sign of Mr Esselbrugge.
Police divers arrived from Wellington yesterday but it was too late to begin their underwater search.
The area of the lake where Mr Esselbrugge disappeared was known to be a popular but dangerous swimming spot.
