KEY POINTS:
Police have delayed releasing the results of a post-mortem examination on a Northland baby.
They had been expected to announce yesterday what killed 16-month-old Riley Justin Osborne, who died in Auckland's Starship hospital on Tuesday, four days after being airlifted from Kerikeri with head injuries.
Police gave no reason for the delay, but maintained that the death would be soon resolved.
Riley lived with his 22-year-old mother, 21-year-old stepfather and a family friend in a unit in Cobham Rd, Kerikeri.
Meanwhile, neighbours said reports of all-night parties and police responses were surprising.
One woman said the tenants were no noisier than any other people. "I'd strongly debate the speculation about police call-outs to them."
