Police are cracking down on cannabis growers north of Auckland, seizing hundreds of plants from a number of properties in the last few weeks.
Last week about 100 plants were removed from rural properties around Kaukapakapa following raids at addresses in the Helensville area.
Police are appealing to the public to help them stop cannabis growing out of control in the district over the summer.
"As the warm days ensue police are going on the offensive to prevent this drug from making it onto our local streets," said Helensville Community Constable Brett Mann.
"Cannabis is a hazard for driving, it is a hazard in the work place, it is a hazard to all sectors of society. Police want to stop this drug from finding its way into our homes and schools and want your help to get rid of it."
