A man has been arrested after armed police were called to a house on Auckland's North Shore yesterday following reports a gunman was on the loose.
Police said no firearm was found and the incident was relatively minor.
Members of the armed offenders squad were called to the house in the suburb of Northcote after a security guard was reportedly held up shortly after 6am.
Inspector Tony Edwards said police were interviewing three people
and had searched a number of houses.
He said no one was injured in the incident and the Armed Offenders Squad had been stood down.
One witness who caught the ferry yesterday morning said diversions were put in place.
Queen St was cordoned off at the intersection with Bartley and Clarence Streets, near the Bridgeway Cinema.
