A former Black Power gang pad in Auckland now belongs to the Crown, after police used new legislation to seize the half-million dollar building.
The building, once home to the gang's million-dollar-per-year cannabis operation, was confiscated under the Proceeds of Crime Act, One News reported tonight.
Black Power president Mark Pitman had owned the pad for 15 years, before police kicked out gang members on Wednesday.
Police had busted the gang's cannabis ring three-and-a-half years ago, but had only yesterday succeeded in taking the building.
The building's current council valuation was $545,000.
