Police hunting the killer of twins Cru and Chris Kahui say they will not be rushed and are confident of a resolution.
The three-month-old babies died 10 days ago in Auckland's Starship Children's Hospital from injuries received several days earlier.
Family members refused to co-operate with police and give any information that may lead to the killer or killers until yesterday.
Today the officer in charge of the inquiry Detective Senior Sergeant John Tims said police had now interviewed family members but refused to say whether they had been helpful.
"I will say the police went to them, they did not come to us," he said at a press conference.
Mr Tims said the inquiry was progressing but would not say if the family was still refusing to provide information.
"Our concern at the moment is to make someone responsible for inflicting the injuries on Cru and Chris."
Mr Tims refused to release more details of the injuries which killed the babies.
A post mortem examination found they had brain damage and one had a broken leg.
Mr Tims would not comment on a suggestion from former family spokeswoman Ani Hawke that the family had been told by the hospital that the injuries were a result of violent shaking.
"We are still waiting on our pathology evidence and I won't comment until I have that in writing.
"I won't comment on the injuries today, other than Cru and Chris received multiple injuries."
He appealed for the public to be patient and said the inquiry would go ahead at police pace and they would not be rushed into a conclusion.
