Police want help to find a 23-year-old Tauranga man missing since the beginning of the month.
Joshua Baylis has not been seen since his mother dropped him off on June 1 at a lay-by between Maniatutu Road and Okere Road between Te Puke and Rotorua, a short distance from Lake Rotoiti.
Detective Sergeant Eddie Lyttle of Tauranga police said Mr Baylis had not contacted family members since and they feared for his safety.
Mr Baylis is a fair-skinned Maori man with dark brown hair and blue eyes, of thin build, and 170cm tall.
He was wearing a distinctive large checked grey and black jacket, black and white checked shorts and green Adidas shoes with 3 white stripes.
Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call police.
