Police have concerns for the safety of a male who was seen jumping into the water by the eastern side of Auckland's Princes Wharf at around 5am this morning.
Members of the public saw the man remove his shoes and shirt before jumping into the water and he was last seen swimming under the wharf.
Police staff and the Police Maritime Unit searched the area but were unable to locate him.
The Police National Dive Squad is being called in to assist with the search.
The male was described as being Caucasian, approximately 186 cm tall, medium build, with frizzy hair that was 15-20 cm long.
