Police are concerned for the welfare of a 50-year-old man who went missing from Auckland Hospital yesterday.
Brian Mentor suffered from a number of ailments and needed to take his medication or he could become ill very quickly, police said.
Inspector Lou Alofa of police northern communications said Mr Mentor was last seen wearing a black leather coat with a small chain, a grey jersey, an orange wrap-around sarong and possibly a beanie.
Mr Mentor could have found his way to the North Shore. Anyone with information is asked to call police, Mr Alofa said.
