Police chase 160km/h car

A chase that started when a stolen vehicle rammed a police car in Quay St, Auckland, early today ended in Onehunga when the pursued car, which had reached speeds of up to 160km/h, crashed into a power pole.

The Eagle helicopter and several squad cars were involved in the pursuit, which lasted about 15 minutes.

Three people who fled the crashed vehicle were arrested.
