KEY POINTS:
Rotorua police have charged a man with attempted murder in relation to a roadrage incident which resulted in a man being shot with a high-powered air gun.
It was believed the attacker had become enraged when the car driven by the 32-year-old victim followed too closely last Thursday.
He stopped and approached the other driver, shooting him in the face and arm with the air gun.
The victim was discharged from hospital the same day and was recovering well, police said.
Police said this morning a 49-year-old Rotorua man will appear in Rotorua District Court tomorrow to face a charge of attempted murder.
