Senior Sergeant Mike Sutton has confirmed that a Holden Commodore involved in a two-car collision last week was a police car.
The collision happened at the intersection of Fox St and Birdwood St in Featherston last Wednesday evening.
The impact flipped a Toyota Surf completely over and it came to rest on its side, near the public toilets. One wheel was ripped off. The police vehicle remained upright but had extensive damage to the front bumper.
Mr Sutton said the police car was not involved in a pursuit.
He said investigations into the crash were continuing.
