Police say they have captured the less dangerous of two prisoners who escaped while being led by security guards from the cells to court in south Auckland.
Vincent Geros, 23, was found at an address on Auckland's North Shore about 10.30am yesterday and now faces a charge of escaping from prison as well as burglary and breach of community work charges, police spokeswoman Ana-Mari Gates-Bowey said.
He and Perry Bristow, 26, fled from Manukau District Court last week as they were being escorted by security guards from the cells to the courtroom.
Ms Gates-Bowie said Bristow was the more dangerous of the two and advised the public to stay clear of him if they saw him or knew where he was.
He was arrested in connection with a string of armed robberies in Auckland and was thought to be affiliated to the Killer Bees gang.
Geros appeared in Manukau District Court today.
