Nelson police were called to two separate incidents involving offenders armed with knives within five minutes today.
In the first police were called to the Maitai Bowling Club this afternoon where a male reported that he had been stabbed in the arm by a female following a domestic, Sergeant David Lauer said.
En route, police were diverted to a dairy in Washington Rd where children were reported to be threatening people in a shop with a knife and a metal bar.
Mr Lauer said a 54-year-old female was in custody, to appear in Nelson District Court tomorrow facing several charges including assault with a weapon, possession of an offensive weapon and wilful damage.
Following the Washington Road incident five children, aged between eight and 12, had been referred to Nelson Youth Aid Section.
