Police have been called to Middlemore Hospital in South Auckland this morning after a man turned up at the emergency department with a suspicious injury.
Officers were called to Middlemore Hospital at about 7am, a police spokeswoman said.
The man had presented with an injury but it was "unclear how the injury was sustained", she said.
"The person is understood to be in a moderate condition and police are making enquiries."
