Police have arrested nine people, some with gang links, and seized a quantity of methamphetamine, a firearm and more than $100,000 in cash in raids on eight South Auckland properties today.
The Counties Manukau organised crime unit seized three and a half ounces of methamphetamine, cash, a firearm, three vehicles and a number of laptops.
Eight of those arrested had been charged with conspiring to supply methamphetamine and would appear in Pukekohe District Court tomorrow, police said.
The ninth person has been charged with drug dealing offences.
Detective Inspector John Tims said the arrests would have a significant impact on the supply of methamphetamine in the Pukekohe and Franklin area.
"This operation is another example of police being proactive with gangs involved in serious drug offending. Some of those arrested are members and associates of the Pukekohe chapter of Black Power," Mr Tims said.
Those arrested were aged between 24 and 47. Four were women.
Police are taking action under the proceeds of crime legislation in relation to bank accounts, vehicles and a house.
